Congratulations to EFA members on the results of the elections in France!
The outcome of recent municipal elections and inter-municipal elections in France marks a starting point in the transformation of society with a much stronger presence of territories and their particularities.
In the communes and inter-communal areas of Alsace, Brittany, Corsica, Moselle, Occitania, the Catalan Country, the Basque Country, and Savoy, regionalist representatives have been elected. The best results were obtained in rural communities and, in particular, in villages with less than 1,000 inhabitants. In urban areas, alone or in coalition, regionalists have strongly consolidated their presence. In Brittany, EFA member the Breton Democratic Union (l’Union Démocratique Bretonne) will sit in the majority with the environmentalists, as well as with the left in Nantes, Rennes, Brest, Saint-Brieuc and in thirty other municipalities.
EFA congratulates our members on the results and looks forward to continuing to work together for a sustainable, progressive world, respecting human rights and the right to self-determination of all peoples.
