Support EU national regions by signing the European Citizens’ Initiative

EFA calls for the signature of the ECI (European Citizens’ Initiative) to establish a separate funding scheme within the regional development policy of the EU, which provides with additional support to regions with national, cultural or linguistic characteristics different from those of their surroundings.

The ECI is in line with EFA core values and goals, as it aims to contribute to getting closer to a Europe of nations and peoples by proposing a way to sustain the special characteristics of national regions. It would result in gaining EU recognition for territories that EFA represents within the framework of an EU legal act that would enumerate all EU national regions.

Deadline for the collection of signatures is 07 May 2020
