EFA welcomes Més per Menorca, Siciliani Liberi and Union Valdôtaine as full members

The General Assembly also decided to approve Estau Aragonés membership as a candidate member

The General Assembly of the European Free Alliance held online on 4 May decided to accept Més per Menorca, Siciliani Liberi and Union Valdôtaine as full members of the European Political Party. One year after the cooperation with EFA stared, all three parties have proved their willingness to join forces to work together, specially in matters as important as building an islands strategy for the EU, language protection and descentralisation. The main body of EFA also decided to approve Estau Aragonés as a candidate member. EFA welcomes its new members to the organization and encourages them to work for a more democratic and plural Europe.

EFA parties also approved motions urging to remove electoral barriers especially for autonomous regions, islands, and minorities; to develop more cross-border training courses in the EU; to abolish geo-blocking for public broadcasters; to implement the Minority Safe Pack initiative; and to empower women. The General Assembly also approved some motions calling on France to respect its citizens linguistic and cultural rights, and supported Corsican language and self-determination rights. Finally, EFA demanded urgent action to lift the blockade in the Republic of Artsakh and called the UN, EU, OSCE and other institutions to send a fact-finding mission to save the people of Artsakh from the imminent threat of “ethnic cleansing”.
