MEP Klaus Buchner joins EFA party as an individual member

German Member of the European Parliament Klaus Buchner from the Ecological Democratic Party (Ökologisch-Demokratische Partei, ÖDP) has joined the European Free Alliance party as an individual member for the 2019-2024 mandate.

Mr. Buchner, a university professor and physicist, was firstly elected as an MEP in 2014 and was re-elected in the May 2019 European elections. He sits with the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament, and is a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and the Subcommittee on Security and Defence.

During the current mandate, Mr. Buchner will work closely with EFA party on different matters “from self-determination issues to the transition to a green and sustainable economy, social justice, participatory democracy or the defence of civic and political rights”, EFA President, Lorena López de Lacalle, said.
